“In other circumstances, I would have been a Nazi.”
Kurt Vonnegut ~ Scorpio
Every new Moon gently whispers it is time to begin again. Letting go is the opposite of forgetting. Forgetting re-creates the possibility of misfortune or disaster. Letting go gives new fragile seeds the chance in our hearts and thoughts to initiate and grow something better. I don’t ever ask anyone to forget, I pray for myself and others not to forgive until we know what we are forgiving.
Immense healing is possible in this new moon cycle; just as immense self sabotage is also possible during the same time. Listen carefully; the stronger the emotions the shorter the sight. Well, then okay, don’t listen; anger is not identical to passion. I learned this from Roland Barthes — Scorpio.
A new 28 day cycle unfolds on November 1, 2024. In the northern hemisphere we have exited the lovely early days of autumn. The leaves of trees transformed from green wind harmonium to unimaginable shades of crimson, gold, yellow, and every shade in between. Now, above in the sky there are mega-tons of gray sun-blocking watery clouds, while immense tonnages of former sugar factories lie in greasy brown smears all over this local earth.
Tonight is Halloween. That time when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest.
28 days from now we will be heading into the next beginning about a new Moon cycle called Sagittarius; ‘Toxotes’ in Greek, meaning the Archer. The archer fish of the South West Pacific including fresh water, has a scientific name. Toxotes Jaculatrix. That translates as the ‘spitting archer’. The archer is also a hunter who must hunt sun up or sundown. Venus ruled Libra is social. Scorpio will often refuse to delegate lest others are lazy. Jupiter ruled Sagittarius is mirthful and can be quite careless.
During this present new moon cycle, it is good to be the intense truth-seeker, probe deeply into the nature of reality, ask meaningful questions, show force after all other avenues have been exhausted, rebuild after natural disaster, learn relearn the power of forgiveness, and I understand that true power lies in not using power over others, except for those who lack conscience.
There is a portion of the Scorpio nature that is little talked about; the Bringer of light. And when you hear others misuse astrology with phrases like I can’t help it, it’s my nature, you have the option of reminding them gently about the baffling truth that we are all in school, the other name for this planet. And first — and this is prime — chant silently, “physician heal thyself.” Under other circumstances, I would have been a Nazi. Well, here we are in other circumstances — and we always have a choice, and we all know that there is no such thing as good or bad — there are always consequences.
