Notes on Transiting Pluto in Aquarius
& the killing of a Unitedhealth CEO
an essay by Mike Zizis
I’m going to preface this essay by stating clearly that I don’t endorse the use of violence for change. And as a Canadian by choice I am firmly against health care for profit.
This past month Pluto has settled down in the first 00° of Aquarius. There will be no more backing up into Capricorn. Pluto is the God of the underworld. It is tremendously important to encompass a fuller meaning of this. Pluto hallmarks bloody revolutions and can signify no interest in an individual life during upheavals.
Aquarius is humane. Pluto in an analogous way signifies dreams that are presented in the unconscious.; the imagery of dreams and Pluto represent wildness, and sometimes to us, savage thematic material.
This brings me to the point of the assassination of Brian Thompson CEO of Unitedhealth outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel.
From The New York Times;
“Mr. Thompson was chief executive of his company’s insurance division, which reported $281 billion in revenue last year, providing coverage to millions of Americans through the health plans it sold to individuals, employers and people under government programs like Medicare. The division employs roughly 140,000 people.
Mr. Thompson received a $10.2 million compensation package last year, a combination of $1 million in base pay and cash and stock grants. He was shot to death as he was walking toward the annual investor day for UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare’s parent company.”
The assassin seems to be at least one person who thoroughly thought through this event. He left taunting messages for the police. This is somewhat aquarian in nature. This death was done in broad daylight. Some reports reveal that he escaped on a bicycle. Bicycles are very Aquarian devices. He left messages on the shell casings for the police to find; using the very words the insurance agency is using to cut people off from their benefits.
What I mean by this is that many other signs of the zodiac would do their best to conceal every portion of this murder. This killing was done the opposite in every way. Aquarius favors the group and what benefits the group. Mr. Thompson represented that peacock flair of a sign like the most bombastic and ostentatious traits of Leo. The glyph of Aquarius looks a lot like balanced lightning bolts or two rivers or a back and forth of alternating currents for instance, achieving a kind of balance of scribbles. Many tens of thousands of fellow Americans who have lost family members and friends due to insufficient coverage by wildly profitable insurance companies, have applauded the situation as a kind of harsh restorative justice.
Of course one of the predictable results of this killing is security protection of the insurance CEOs. The other message is in all probability ‘you will be next.’ While it certainly is time for economic justice and balance to be restored in a capitalism without restraints or governmental limitations, it is also tragic that it had to come to this for our sudden Aquarian awakening.
Please notice that this violent instant was carried out under a Mercury retrograde. Thus it will be much harder — but perhaps not impossible — to track down the assailant than if Mercury was direct. This killing also occurs on the eve of Mars the killer turning retrograde, in Leo. We can look at this retrograding of Mars in Leo as a metaphoric regicide.
I will not take on any task about predictive outcomes for this particular case. I will state clearly that there is nothing — at least on the surface — rational about Pluto themes of the underworld and violence. I am stating as clearly as I can that many medical breakthroughs have come about because of themes of war and recovery. The word antibiotics is Greek. It means ‘against life’. Its use was made universal by the second world war.
