Mr Hammond you obviously are a man of great erudition. It's okay to make a direct statement.

You seem to love sprinkling commas and other parenthetical expressions more than a french chef loves croutons.

FYI Hemingway carefully murdered congested periodic written language. Clarity in the written word is not your enemy sir.

"As a human tale, the subject notwithstanding, few histories, maybe none others, are as replete with obfuscation, lies and deceit over such a long period of time. “ Four commas in one statement weaken your thesis.

We are not privy to what ever clarity you had in your mind by way of your written craft.

Tho it's very pleasurable and fashionable to throw crap at the masters, allow me to remind you of the words of Arthur C Clarke after he was overwhelmed with an avalanche of fuzzy out-of-focus photos of distant smears;

"Show me a spaceship!!"
