INTO THE MYSTIC, THE EVERNESS, THE HIDDEN MEANING IN EVERYTHING, DUCT-TAPED BANANAS, THE LAST MERCURY RETROGRADE OF 2024 IN SAGITTARIUS, AND THAT OTHER THING ABOUT SEX, ESPECIALLY SEX

The numbers;

Mercury turns retrograde November 25 9:43 pm — at 22° of Sagittarius.

Mercury turns direct December 14 — at 6° of Sagittarius.

What this means for everything and everyone everywhere all the time -

In astrology we say that Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo. In this context think of the sign of Gemini as a kind of alternating current. Direct-current flows in one direction through a wire. Alternating current is everywhere all the time -electrons being pushed and pulled in all directions at once. Gemini wants to be included wants to be everywhere at all points at all moments wants to be in the electrified mainstream of gossip, never miss anything, and never settle down to one viewpoint at a time oh wow oh wow oh wow, girl-on-girl echidna sex. When Mercury occupies the sign of Virgo the analysis never ends especially to make a final point, even more microscopic criticality on the minutia of the moment’s passing, as well as cultivating a practical analytical healing journey and communicating real data in real-time. Problem-solving also known as invention, is a Virgo/ Mercury ruled phenomenon. {see below - a few paragraphs for details}

The opposite and complementary sign of Sagittarius wants the biggest boats to arrive at the biggest harbors with the biggest riches with horns blaring and bankers celebrating. Jupiter and Sagittarius are not concerned about bean counting but the glorious extravagance of wealth and big movements and the arc of justice and celebrating with a fanfare orchestra playing. Sagittarius is also the introvert who sets off big cannons. And because he is the archer he can easily fall in love with weapons of war, and commit justice as he sees it. Jupiter, as the Greek god Zeus, was the ultimate lawgiver and didn’t hesitate to exert his sense of justice on all concerned including Prometheus — the mythic creator of mankind.

When Mercury retrogrades in his opposite side of Sagittarius — the light of the {eternal light of spirit} candle flickers back and forth up and down in dance. We can experience all forms of temporary injustice, seemingly needless waiting and drawbacks, big and little machines sending out sparks of electrons before they break down, and the rebuilding of insufficient machinery and forms of communication to be replaced by that which creates more flow and often more ease.

Think of the reason why safety belts and buckles were included in cars. This was because of the thousands of deaths and maiming in car accidents. I am speaking about the feeling of finally giving up for the moment, and then and only then receiving the gift of looking at the big sheltering sky out of our window, listening to the narcotic music of bulldozers and jackhammers in the city, and allowing the tactility of whatever we are touching with our fingertips to distract us from the irritations of the seemingly chaotic and frustrating moment.

For instance this morning one of our workmen a great guy was in a car accident while on his way to finish our staircase to the second floor. Staircases have quite a lot of metaphors packed in them. However this seeming setback has led to a quieter house setting for me and my spouse to get our work done in peace and quiet. I also wonder about knowing what can’t be known. Did this accident in which he was unharmed, keep him from more mysteriously serious consequences somewhere else about something else? Evidently, we cannot know what we can’t know. Who knew?

There have been scores of books, in science, jazz, paleontology, medicine, and elsewhere about the happy accident. The list of scientific breakthroughs that seem to happen accidentally are enormous, as is the mysterious nature of accidentally meeting someone and falling in love, being held back from getting on a plane that later crashes, and finding what we weren’t looking for and the lonely agony of looking for the thing itself.

Mercury RX can provide the breakthrough …

Innovation is SO OFTEN born of frustrations;

All this is to say that the most angry people, are those who live in a dead conveyor belt world where everything is running on time, as the egotists insist must be accomplished, and in the right way. Suddenly we reduce ourselves into becoming worried taxpayers zooming our way to that final destination. And lest we forget, everyone but everyone passionately yearns to reduce themselves to conspiratorial helplessness.

But the universe is alive with surprises, with sudden flashes of insight, and uncanny doors opening when you firmly believe that all doors are closing. Innovation and discoveries happen more often when we are seemingly deprived of the usual resources techniques tools and the obvious whatever and whomever to get it done.

I am the last person on the planet to be declared a Pollyanna. In 75 years on the planet I have gone from a broken family to a broken body, and yet I have joy and connection that a seamlessly happy life would never provide. I know my happiness and I know my joy. If you still don’t know what I mean just find Bruce Springsteen’s song ‘Glory Days’ and play it until the cows come home.

This Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius gives us permission to question the big picture and then re-inhabit it on our own terms, as long as those terms have been carefully scoured of rigidity. If we have decided that we are that big old Oak standing up against a hurricane, we are out to be more broken by celestial events translating into earthly terms. If we are the supple sapling, in our meditation, then we can bend with the shifting winds. Life and death are what we make it, living well is one art form and dying well is the ultimate other. By way of explaining what I’m explaining I don’t mean to suggest by innuendo anything about death in this essay. What I mean to say here is — “good luck captain, especially during the inevitable yet temporary rough seas.”
